Local AI transcription detects profanity and handles it automatically. Choose to mute or cut, add your own words, and review each detection before applying.
Not every project needs profanity removed the same way. Editorial context matters. EditLint AI gives you two distinct handling modes so you get the right result every time.
The audio for the flagged word is silenced but the video clip stays in place. Viewers see the speaker's mouth moving but hear nothing during that word — exactly what you'd expect from broadcast TV. Ideal when cutting the clip would create an awkward jump cut or break the visual rhythm.
The entire clip range covering the flagged word is removed from the timeline. Use this when the word stands alone enough that its removal doesn't leave a jarring visual gap, or when you know the edit will be covered by B-roll. Produces a cleaner audio result but requires more care around cut points.
EditLint AI ships with a default profanity list covering common English terms. The list is fully editable — add brand-specific terms that shouldn't appear in client deliverables, competitor names, or any words your particular production forbids.
Changes to the word list are saved per project or globally in your brand preset. Agency editors can store a different word list for each client and switch with one click.
Local Whisper transcription produces a word-level transcript with frame-accurate timestamps. Processing is entirely on-device. No audio leaves your machine.
The transcript is checked against your active word list. Each match is returned with its exact timecode, the detected word (shown as asterisks in the panel) and a confidence score. Phonetic variants and common misspellings are handled automatically.
Each detection appears in the panel with your chosen handling mode pre-selected. You can switch individual items between Mute and Cut mode before applying. Check the audio around each detection by clicking to move the playhead.
Stop manually hunting through transcripts for words that shouldn't be in the cut. Let EditLint AI find and handle them automatically before your next export.
