Before you hit export, EditLint AI runs a 7-point delivery checklist: loudness levels, caption track, black frames at head and tail, safe zone compliance, missing media and sequence duration. Pass every check before it reaches the client.
Integrated LUFS is measured against your configured delivery target (YouTube –14, Broadcast –23, etc.). Sections and the sequence overall must fall within the acceptable range. A sequence with dialogue at –22 LUFS and music bed at –10 LUFS will fail if your target is –14 LUFS.
Checks that a caption track (SRT or native caption track) exists and covers the full sequence duration. If captions are required for the delivery but the track is absent or covers less than 80% of the sequence, this check fails. Configurable: you can disable this check if captions are not required.
Scans the first 10 frames and last 10 frames of the sequence for content that is not full black. Black frames at head and tail are a common delivery requirement for broadcast and agency clients. Configurable duration: some clients require 2 seconds of black at head; others require zero.
Checks that all graphic elements — title cards, lower thirds, on-screen text and logos — fall within the broadcast action-safe and title-safe zones. Elements outside the safe zones may be cropped on older broadcast displays. The percentage of time each element is outside safe zones is reported.
Scans the sequence for any offline or missing media links. A sequence with missing media will fail to export or will export with placeholder black frames. Missing media must be relinked before delivery — this check ensures no missing clip silently makes it into the exported file.
Compares the sequence duration against the configured expected duration. If the client specified a 2-minute video and the sequence is 3:45, this check warns you. The warning threshold is configurable — a ±5% tolerance is common for long-form content; ±0% is appropriate for broadcast slots.
If any Critical severity issues from a previous Quality Control run are still marked as Open in the EditLint panel, this check warns you that unresolved critical issues exist. You can choose to override this check if you've reviewed the issues and decided to leave them in.
Each of the 7 checks returns one of three states. Pass means no issues found. Warn means there's something to review but it may be acceptable depending on your delivery context. Fail means a definitive problem that must be fixed before export.
You can override any individual check — useful when a client has explicitly requested a non-standard delivery spec. Overrides are logged with a note in the export prep report.
These are the most common pre-delivery failures that EditLint AI's export prep checklist catches automatically. Every one of them has caused a client complaint or a missed deadline for at least one editor.
Click the Export Prep button in the EditLint panel. Select the delivery platform from the preset list (YouTube, Broadcast, Podcast, Custom) or use the settings from your active Brand Preset.
All 7 checks run in under 30 seconds. Results appear with Pass, Warn or Fail for each check. For any Fail or Warn, the panel shows the exact issue, the measured value and the action required to fix it.
Fix any failing checks. Re-run the checklist to confirm the fix resolved the issue. When all 7 checks pass, export with confidence. Optionally generate a delivery report as proof of completion.
